Three Day Highlights

The weekend consisted of THREE Peanut Breakfast Cookies...

Sober

Sober

Drunk

This picture doesn't do this Cookie justice. If my camera was of better quality you would truly be able to see the difference between this Cookie and the sober ones above. I made this when I got home from Earls and apparently struggled with the Cinnamon. I also came to the conclusion that everything is more fun drunk, including making Breakfast Cookies.

THREE Lunches...

Rutabaga Fries

I had every intention of having fries and a protein but after cutting up the half that was this GIANT vegetable I realized lunch was going to be a solo act. Heaping plate of Rutabaga Fries with Cheese Sauce and KETCHUP.

English Muffin, Stacy's Pita Chips, Pop Chips

Carbs for lunch anyone?

Mahi-Mahi Burger and Bnut Fries

THREE Dinners...

Pickerel and Creamy Beans

Pickerel I fried up in a pan with a little Better Butter (Earth Balance), Salt and Pepper. I tossed the Beans, White Mushrooms and a few Shitake Mushrooms in a pan with about a 1/4 cup of almond milk and fried them up. This was actually really good. The veggies reminded me of a bean casserole.

Earl's Sushi and 6 Vodka Waters

(Use your imagination)

Bnut Fries

Cheese Sauce and Ketchup.

Some of the other highlights include...

Friday night Girls Night

I picked up 3 teas and headed over to Lex's place for a girls night in. Those are my weight lifting gloves beside the tray; they actually match my Under Armor sweat band. JUST kidding, those are my Man's football gloves. I also have to point out that I’m aware that my car is gross. I've now shown you a dusty speedometer AND a dirty a floor. I could round it out by showing you the closet that's currently riding around in my back seat, but I figure I’d leave some things to the imagination.

While I drove over to Lex's house I read the Blackberry Messenger directions she's sent me. I've been to Lex's house before but I was inebriated and more than likely blacked out a few lefts and rights. On the drive over there I realized there was definitely a closer McDonalds than the one the cabby took me to the previous weekend. Had he just gone to that one he probably would have saved me from the moment of panic where (in my head) I questioned whether he was taking me to McDonalds or a secluded field.

When I finally got there I was greeted by the two FUNNIEST dogs I have ever met in my life. She has two French Bulldogs, Rocky and Bobo. Both of whom have more character than Richard Simons and Liza Minnelli put together. I hadn't been there for more than 5 minutes when Rocky went in for the kill. He planted a BIG wet one on my half open unsuspecting mouth. To be honest I felt a little violated, I like to think it at least takes a nice dinner and a glass of wine to get to first base. I'm not that easy.

We spent the night chatting, pretending to watch Bride Wars and eating popcorn. As I drove away I just HAD to snap this terrible blurry picture.

Earls Night

Mel and I headed to Earls Saturday night for Sushi and drinks. Actually, it was more like Mel was heading there for a hot date and I was third wheelin'it. Metaphorically speaking we were like a bike and I was the training wheel on the tire that was Mel. ANYWAY, our table started out as a table of 2, then 3, then 6, then 7, by the end it was like a full on bus. That's the best part about Earls lounge and living in Regina. We called it a night around 12:30 and asked to see the damage. We got our tabs and the two of ours were the exact same with the exception of one drink. Either Mel pounded one back without me or we bought our waitress a Vodka water..

Sunday Football

My Dad bought my Man, my Sister, her Husband and I all season tickets to the Rider games. My Man was happy since our seats are together. He figured that my Sister would save him from having to pretend to listen to me talk the whole game. Unfortunately for him a large Man was taking up two seats so we had to sit a row ahead of them. It was also unfortunate for him because I had ALOT of stories from Saturday night. We also sat on the sunny side and for once in the last 3 weeks it was HOT out. I kid you not my spray tan was slowly melting off. To be honest I couldn’t even tell you who the Riders played. I can however, tell you that the shirtless guy sitting in front of me had a very suspicious mole on his back that he really should have checked.

THREE Lessons Learned

1. No matter how many times I try to remember to put wet laundry in the dryer, I can't.

2. I can't beat Bailey in a race.

My Sister and I walked Bailey over to my parents house and tried to get a tan in the backyard. At one point I thought it would be fun to race Bailey. I had my heart set on beating her so this continued for about 7 rounds. When we finished I was both shocked and embarrassed at how out of breath I was. All I was thinking was, "SEE that's what happens when you stop going to the gym for 2 weeks." But then I remembered the 7 Vodka waters from the night before and felt a little better.

3. Russell Brand is AWESOME

THREE Successes in the Kitchen

I made the Granola Bar

And ate 1/4 of it..

I made my Man a "greasy" yet healthy Hangover Meal after his buddy's Stag

The key to this meal was cooking everything with a little Earth Balance rather than cooking Spray. Then it tastes "greasy".

I used THIS Sausage

I used this NEW Spelt Bread from Dad's

Their Organic Bakery isn't open YET, but at times they have some of the bread that will become a regular item once it's official. Homemade Organic Bread? Can't beat that.

Okay so I lied, there wasn't THREE successes in the Kitchen, but I didn't want to ruin my theme.

I also had a few Snacks throughout the weekend..

The rest of this Jar of Cinnamon Raisin Swirl PB

And an Almost Empty Jar of PB

JUST kidding, that's an Almost Empty Jar for a 400 pound beast.

I figured today would be a good time to share the Dirty Dozen and Clean Fifteen list with you. No, I'm not talking about guys. I'm talking about fruits and veggies. According to Food News(www.foodnews.org/methodology.php)these are the lists of the 12 most contaminated foods and the 15 most least likely to be contaminated. Basically the 12 you WANT to buy Organic and the 15 you can save some money and buy regular.

The Dirty Dozen

- Peaches
- Blueberries
- Strawberries
- Nectarines
- Cherries
- Grapes
- Apples
- Bell Peppers
- Kale
- Spinach
- Celery
- Collard Greens

It also said Potatoes but that's 13 so erased that one.

The Clean Fifteen

- Onions
- Sweet Corn
- Sweet Peas
- Asparagus
- Cabbage
- Eggplant
- Sweet Potatoes
- Kiwi
- Pinneaples
- Watermelon
- Cantaloupe
- Grapefruit
- Honey Dew
- Mangos
- Avocados

The site goes on to say, "When you eat the 12 most contaminated fruits and vegetables, you’ll be exposed to an average of 10 pesticides a day. When you choose fresh produce from the 15 least contaminated fruits and vegetables, you’ll consume fewer than 2 pesticides per day."

That's it.

  4. I can totally tell the difference between the sober and non-sober cinnamon on the cookies!

I heard that Strawberries were really bad for being contaminated, but I eat way too many of them! I need to find a replacement because the organic ones are too pricey...maybe bnut squash? lol.

BTW, the regular Pb. + Co. peanut butter and the dark chocolate dreams are both delicious, too! I haven't tried the Cinnamon one yet.
