Pita Pit

Yesterday morning I woke up at 7:30, which is a little too close to the time I have to be at work, 8:00. I basically had time to grab my Cookie, Bailey, my Man, change and run out the door.

When I got to work it was time to Break(the)fast

1/3 Cup Oatmeal, 1 Tbsp Almond Butter, 3/4 Smashed Banana, Cinnamon, 1 Tsp Maca Powder and 2 Tbsp Almond Milk.

Around 11:30 my Mom and I headed to NWL, a high fashion dress store, so I could show her the gown I had picked out for a pageant this weekend. Yes, a pageant. So here's a quick look into my pageant history. Oh wait there isn't one. In 2006 I competed in the Miss Universe Canada Pageant, which is the same thing as Miss USA but aparently Canada feels the need to put Universe in the title. I was supposed to compete in that pageant again this year but backed out since it would have been a whole 2 weeks in TO. I opted for Phoenix instead and yes I still occasionally kick myself for it. ANYWAY, I was asked to do the Miss Sask pageant, which is no Miss Universe Canada, but I figured why not?

We all know the REAL reason I entered the pageant... WORLD PEACE

Annnnnnd Maps

"I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because, uh, some people out there in our nation don't have maps, and, uh, I believe that our education like such as in South Africa and, uh, the Iraq everywhere like, such as and I believe that they should, our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S., er, should help South Africa and should help the Iraq and the Asian countries, so we will be able to build up our future for our children." - Caitlin Upton

You know what I typed into google to find her? Miss Teen USA geography question.

Annnnd to promote Prejudicial Views

"Well I think it's great that Americans are able to choose one way or the other. We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage. And, you know what, in my country, in my family, I think that, I believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman, no offense to anybody out there. But that’s how I was raised and I believe that it should be between a man and a woman." - Carrie Prejean

So my Mom and I picked out a new gown, and I also left with two more cocktail dresses. That's what happens when my Mom and I shop together. My shopping addiction is hereditary.

When we finished up there we stopped in down the street so I could pick up a pita for lunch. I walked up to counter and ordered a veggie pita. The guy responded by asking me if I wanted JUST veggies. I said, "yup" and he said, "gross". I liked this guy already. He told me the total as I grabbed a handful of change out of my purse. I handed him a few toonies and he gave me back 11 cents. I kept the change and all my money in my hand and walked to the end to get my pita, grabbing a sample pita chip on the way there.

The lady making my pita started asking me what veggies I wanted before I could eat my chip. So I went through the list of veggies naming the ones I wanted and watched annoyed as she put about 5 of every veggie I said. 5 strands of iceburg lettuce, 5 individual sprouts, 5 tiny green peppers, this pita was going to be HUGE. On the way out the door I stopped at garbage to throw out my gum and my uneaten pita chip. I tossed them in, "TING, TING". It was the sound of money falling into the garbage. I completely forgot that along with the chip and gum I also had my change in my hand.

"Uh Oh," I looked at my Mom, "I just threw out money".

"How much?" my Mom asked.

"I don't know, two toonies and some random change?" She walked back over to the garbarge and looked in, yup it was gone. That's when the guy at the till started heading over asking what had happened.

"She threw money in the garbage," my Mom said.

Damn it, must you tell EVERYONE I thought. Let's just get out of here, screw the 4 dollars the government will never know. Now the guy was in the middle of sliding the huge box of garbage away from the wall and pulling the bag out. Gross, it was clear that I had no choice but to join in and sift through the garbage. There we were, all three of us moving pita wrappers and dirty napkins out of the way looking for toonies. First, the guy found a penny. That's when it occured to me, how much did I ACTUALLY throw in there? It didn't appear as though there was anymore money in the garbage and I thought it was probably a good time to say, "Hmm MAYBE I didn't throw out that much." Now everyone in the place was watching. Next he found a dime and it was safe to say that was the last of the moolah.

"This is the change I gave back to you," he said handing me my 11 dirty cents. Garbage picking for toonies was one thing, but 11 cents?! Ooops.. At least he seemed amused by the whole thing.

This is when my Mom chimed in with, "you should try living with her."

As we walked out the door I yelled back, "Thank you, hopefully you WON'T see me again". Feeling charitable with my Pageant right around the corner I put my 11 cents back in my purse promising myself to donate it to a good cause. It feels so good to be a philanthropist. Lets be honest I'm one foreign child away from becoming THIS

When I got back to work I inhaled my Pita..

Regular on Whole Wheat with Pickles, Iceburg Lettuce, Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Sprouts, Black Olives, Green Peppers, Hummus and Mustard. I try to pick about every vegetable there is, with no meat you need to LOAD up.

The afternoon passed quickly and when I got home from work I was ready for some Watermelon.

I was also ready to mindlessly snacked on THESE..

Hats off to you my friend..

For supper I tried something a little unusual. I didn't want to give up on my Fettucini Alfredo just yet so I attempted to recreate it AGAIN.

Round 2

Miracle Noodles cooked in a pot with 4 Egg Whites, Stirring often until cooked. Then I added 3 Tbsp Hummus, Salt, Pepper and a crumbled Amy's California Burger. I rate this a 5 out of 10. I'll probably eat it again but it was nothing like my Scottsdale version.

I watched the Hills while eating my poor mans pasta and can you say BORING?! Also, am I the only one who thinks Micaela resembles someone who goes by the name of Lauren Conrad?

While the rest of Cast were filming scenes Heidi was at home tweeting...

PS I HAVE NO FRIENDS, the ones who are pretending to be "friends" or "family", are crazy, angry, broke, and bitter this is why I

Damn your Mom for pretending to be "family", arrest the imposter.

Doesn't this picture just scream, "I am normal"?

I'd be lying if I said I couldn't relate to her just a little bit. Thanks to Victoria and her secret, I too know what it's like to have bombshells.

Before bed I had a small snack of 2 pieces of Pumpernickle Bread, Cinnamon Swirl PB and a 1/4 of a Banana.

I think this snack is highly recommended in the pageant industry as the perfect bedtime snack within days of a swimsuit competition. What can I say? I do what I can.

that pita pit situation is annoying.. i love when ppl are confused when you order something vegetarian. for my graduation 2 days ago at dinner i ordered the shrimp cocktail with a goat cheese salad and side of grilled 'shrooms. (of course i devoured the wheat sour doll warm rolls and a piece of cake after too) and the waitress was like 'well aren't you strangely healthy' umm ok?? haha
