I woke up yesterday morning at 7:30 AGAIN. I took my puppy downstairs and turned the kettle on for some GREEN TEA. I used to really dislike green tea, but as with lots of things you eventually acquire a taste for it. Now it’s my favorite tea to drink first thing in the morning. I consider this a big step up from the black coffee I used to rely on.
Here are some reasons to drink the green tea from Harvard Health News:
Studies have found an association between consuming green tea and a reduced risk for several cancers, including, skin, breast, lung, colon, esophageal, and bladder.
Additional benefits for regular consumers of green and black teas include a reduced risk for heart disease. The antioxidants in green, black, and oolong teas can help block the oxidation of LDL (bad) cholesterol, increase HDL (good) cholesterol and improve artery function. A Chinese study published recently in the Archives of Internal Medicine showed a 46%-65% reduction in hypertension risk in regular consumers of oolong or green tea, compared to non-consumers of tea.

Next I ate my Breakfast Cookie while I caught up on some blogs. My puppy snuggled on my lap. I love Sundays!

At 9:30 I hit up RIDE at the gym AGAIN. It was more like 9:34, I was late. I can be late for anything, even when I have absolutely nothing to do before the said event. Athankyou to my sister for saving me a bike. I feel spoiled to have such a great family! As per usual Ride kicked my butt. I highly recommend this class, especially if you’re a slacker like me and need to be pushed. (At some gyms I think it’s called Spin)
I came home and had something VERY predictable:

Muscle food (1/2 scoop)

I hopped on the manly train at lunch with BURGERS. Beef burgers for my man and black bean burgers for me.

The mix – Spelt flour, Organic bbq sauce, little olive oil and MASH. I added egg white to the beef burgers. I don’t think you always need measurements, trust your eye.

I had a fitting in the afternoon for an upcoming fashion show this week. I hit up Chapters on my way home and picked up some reading material…

I was feeling snacky when I got home and I wanted to try this out:

I took half the block and blended it in the magic bullet (which I’m almost officially banned from using because I’m putting “weird” stuff in it and “not cleaning the only thing” my man cares about being clean.. oops..) with a tbsp of PB and some Agave. I topped it with more Agave and cinnamon. It was just like pudding only it had 14g of muscle food (aka protein).

Fueled up, I put my game face on and tackled the Calzones I was dreaming up all week. I was doubly excited because my man had a buddy over and he was hungry too. More people to impress!!!
I found this recipe for dough at (www.recipezaar.com/spelt-pizza-crust-wheat-free-192260) It was so easy, I cut the recipe in half (before I knew we were having company) and then cut it into a quarter to whip up one more batch of dough for our guest. I did all this math in my head by the way. Mmm hmmm...

Chicken, cheese, pizza sauce, mushrooms, tomatoes. Presentation is everything.
I loved mine and ate it ALL! My man ate half of his; being the reigning king of protein shakes he obviously had to have one an hour before supper, in turn, making him full. What a guy. His friend ate the whole thing. He’s now my favorite friend.
I took my new books to bed with me, since football is boring, and started reading Supereating. I can’t wait to share what I learn. Before calling it a night I had 2 figs with PB. Annnnd then in the middle of the night I woke up and ate half a piece of pumpernickel bread with more PB. I figure I was fueling for ride in the morning. (It’s actually a weird night if I don’t wake up once to eat something)
